Video clip rules


Detect people or unknown moving objects

Determine if an object is:

  • Inside or outside a region
  • Entering or exiting a region
  • On top of a region
  • Entering or exiting through a door
  • Crossing a boundary
  • Loitering

Send an email if a rule is triggered

Play a sound if a rule is triggered

All video is temporarily kept up to 48 hours whether or not any rules triggered recording

  • 1GB RAM or higher (2GB RAM minimum for Vista and Windows 7)

  • Mac OS X 10.5 or higher
  • 2.0GHz Intel-based processor or higher
  • 1GB RAM or higher
Minimum screen resolution:
  • 1024 x 768
Processing requirements:
  • 1.5 cameras per CPU core
  • 2 cameras per CPU core on a dedicated machine
Video storage requirements:
  • 2.5 to 3 hours of video per GB, depending on your camera and how much activity is in the scene
  • 25GB of free disk space is recommended; video can be stored on an external drive

A USB webcam or IP camera is required. IP cameras require a network connection to the computer where the software is installed.

Vitamin D Video is pre-configured to work with webcams and a number of IP cameras.

NOTE: Recognition performance may vary by camera. Axis and Panasonic cameras, for example, provide some of the best results.
