Vitamin D Video Reference Guide
The cameras are recording but the application won't open
If you are unable to launch the Vitamin D Video application, but it appears that the background processes running the cameras are operating, it may be because of a bug with the auto-updater functionality. This may occur if the date and time settings of your computer are temporarily set in the future (for example if you have problems with the Windows Internet Time option).
To fix the problem, delete a file called "Gui Prefs.pkl." This file is located at the top level of the Vitamin D Video folder, found here:
- On Windows XP go to C:\Documents and Settings\<your user name>\Local Settings\Application Data\Vitamin D Video\Gui Prefs.pkl.
- On Vista, go to C:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\Local\Vitamin D Video\Gui Prefs.pkl.
- On Mac OS go to /Users/<your user name>/Library/Application Support/Vitamin D Video/Gui Prefs.pkl.
A few minor preferences are reset (e.g., whether you want to have boxes around objects show in the Search view), but your video should be unaffected.
